The Be More Healthy Expo in Seal Beach made it’s 5th annual debut recently and made a huge splash at Eisenhower Park overlooking the ocean. Although this is the 5th year the event has been held in Seal Beach, local resident and Chairperson Diana Bean (pictured below with Grace Ferguson) redesigned it from the ground up.
This year the venue was moved from Rossmoor Shops parking lot to the scenic Eisenhower park with the intention of improving public participation. Shuttle transportation was arranged for Leisure World residents so they could take advantage of the numerous screening stations set up at the Expo.
Dendreon Corporation, located in Seal Beach, was the title sponsor of the event and mingled with the public at their centrally located booth. The Chamber of Commerce was located just behind Dendreon handled vendor check-in and tee shirt sales for the event.
Alice Billman, (pictured above) owner of Wellsprings Massage Therapy even took time out of her busy morning to get a massage at her booth. The Seal Beach Lions Club, who were instrumental in setting up the 60+ vendor booths, were also on hand providing free sight & hearing screenings from their mobile unit.
Wholebody Vibe made their public debut at the Be More Healthy Expo. They had two body vibration machines on hand along with knowledgeable staff to answer questions about the suite of services the offer.
The Be More Healthy Expo was attended by residents of all ages and fun was had by everyone including the exhibitors. Demonstrations took place throughout the day, and there was even a bounce house for the kids. The pictures here only represent a fraction of the entire event and vendors, but the event did a lot to awaken the community in Spring and put an important focus on health. I can barely wait to see how the 2013 Be More Healthy Expo shapes up to top this years wonderful community event.
