The difference is buyers that are shopping during the holiday season tend to be more serious and make decisions quicker. Many well educated home owner’s considering the sale of their home in the new year have started early by listing, and selling their home during (and sometimes on) the holidays.
What makes listing your home for sale during the holidays an attractive option?
Just that! Homes are decorated beautifully, smell the best, are warm and appeal to all of the home shoppers senses during the holidays. Still not buying into this notion? Stop by a few open houses this weekend and you’ll experience it for yourself.
Of course all of this sounds nice, but where is the proof? During the months of November and December 2011 exactly 17 homes were sold in Seal Beach. In 2012 during the same period, another 14 homes would sell. Which brings us to 2013 and our current holiday home sales period.
2013 sales are on pace to beat 2011. Since November 1st, exactly 9 homes have sold and another 5 are pending sale (in escrow) and we’re only half way through the month. So why is this such a big deal? Because as I mentioned earlier, the type of home buyer that is shopping during the holidays is more serious and make decisions quicker.
In December of 2012, we successfully sold a piece of vacant land at 325 Seal Beach Blvd. The buyer was serious, made an offer accordingly, and we closed escrow in 14 days on December 26th. These are the type of buyers that shop during the holidays and your home could be the one they purchase.
