On Sunday May 22 the Seal Beach Green Belt welcomed it’s newest visitor, Grace Ferguson. On a walk home from a recent lunch on Main Street, my wife and I realized that our daughter hadn’t touched her bare feet to grass yet. At just five months old, the weather hadn’t really permitted until recently and we figured what better place then the Seal Beach Green Belt.
With Spring beginning to take effect, and warmer weather finally arriving Grace was thrilled to be out of her shoes and playing in the grass. It was amazing to see her reaction when her little feet first touched the grass of the Seal Beach Greenbelt. Of course it didn’t take long for her to hone in on a leaf to put in her mouth, and my guess was the little yellow flower was next.
It’s days like that I’m reminded about how lucky we are to live in a City like Seal Beach were we can walk to the beach or Green Belt in a matter of minutes. In the next couple of months Grace will begin walking, and what better place for her to safely practice then on this grassy area in the heart of our City. Don’t be surprised of the post on my blog is Grace taking her first walk across this little oasis in Seal Beach.
